Death — Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Boss

Death is Dracula's right-hand Grim Reaper. Official line: his soul-reaping scythe can even slice through space itself. Aaron LaPlante voices him. He is listed among the legendary bosses alongside Medusa and Carmilla, which usually means a late-castle appointment rather than a street fight.

What "slice through space" suggests

Until someone plays the fight, treat that phrase as a telegraph for teleport slashes, delayed cuts, or attacks that ignore a pillar you were hiding behind. Bring a movement kit from the whip grapple guide and do not plan to camp a corner. If the Arcana you earn is a scythe or a blink, it will probably be a traversal key for a later inverted room. That is how this series likes to work.

Death also sits on the story axis with Count Dracula. He is not a random elite. Wikipedia summarizes him as the servant who feeds on souls of the dead. If you are reading lore as you play, do this fight after you understand Rose's curse, not as a side door you popped because the map had a skull icon.

Preparation checklist

• Finish Works of Mercy on earlier cards so Blessings are online.
• Carry a weapon category that can hit a teleporting target, not just a grounded Joan clone.
• Enter with flasks and, if you have it, Crypt Key already used on nearby chests.
• Mark the nearest save chapel on the castle map.

After the seal, add him to the boss checklist and immediately test the new Arcana in the same hall. If it is a special action, the room you are standing in was probably designed as a tutorial for it.
