Count Dracula is the immortal vampire king and lord of the castle. Official history: in the late 15th century he led an army of monsters, was defeated by Trevor and his companions, then temporarily resurrected three years later, proving his soul was indestructible. A sequel, not a reboot

This is the original Castlevania timeline. 1476 is Dracula's Curse. 1479 is the Curse of Darkness resurrection. 1499 is this game. The castle appearing in Paris is the visual thesis. You can see it from the burning streets in the opening walkthrough. You enter it in the castle chapter.

Trailers already put Rose in a throne confrontation: she has come to destroy him like her father, mother, and their allies. He answers with contempt. Whether the final form is classic Dracula, a new Paris ritual, or something using Rose's cursed arm is unspoiled. Play it as a siege against a man who has already died twice.

Death, Carmilla, Medusa, and Isaac are the named pieces on the board. The Fallen and Joan of Arc look like Paris-local horrors rather than the inner circle. If you are hunting lore, clear the lieutenants with the boss checklist before you expect a clean ending.
