Notre Dame Map — Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Notre Dame is the vertical Paris landmark, not a separate game mode. Official commentary names the sacred spires as a climb after the catacombs. GameSpot's hands-on placed the second named boss on a tower with no front door: you go around, under, and through drawbridges until a platforming path exists. That tower is the rooftops walkthrough and the Joan of Arc fight.

How the cathedral sits on the atlas

The city and the cathedral share one map. Rings you ignored on the Paris 1499 streets become holds after The Fallen gives you the Arcana Whip. VGC's Gamescom hour started with only wall jump, slide, dodge, a dagger, and the first Arcana — so Notre Dame is gated by the sewer boss, not by a loading screen. Come back with Holy Cross and the whip, then look up.

Clock towers and library interiors shown in official stage posts sit in the same skyline conversation. If a room looks like a bell chamber, treat it as cathedral-adjacent even if the auto-map still says Paris. Ability gates here are vertical: whip rings, lowered bridges, and later floor-breaks from Joan's explosion Arcana.

What to do on the climb

• Empty chests if Crypt Key is equipped. The tower is a flask factory before Joan.
• Practice whip grapples on the grapple guide before the duel.
• Do not skip the side path that lowers a drawbridge. GameSpot needed it.
• Read menu clues. Ghost NPCs store the next-boss riddle on purpose.

After Joan, Notre Dame stays a two-way hub. You will drop back to the streets with a ground explosion and climb toward the castle silhouette that has been downtown the whole time. The cathedral is a lock, a landmark, and a return path — not a one-shot set piece.
